Mtwara Holmquist Foundation

ONE OF THE POOREST REGIONS IN TANZANIA

Tanzania is one of the poorest countries of Africa and Mtwara is one of Tanzania’s poorest regions. 2013 the road was built from Dar es Salaam to Mtwara to 60 miles away. 90% of the population live in mud huts out in the villages without electricity or water supply. Tanzania has the vision that everyone should have the right to education but in Mtwara the vision is far from reality.
Holmquist Foundation supports schoolarships for secondary schools, which is 4 years ( equivalent to gymnasium ) and after that vocational training and college.  Education is one of the best ways to develop a country and where the help comes directly out to the poor youths in the villages.
